What was it like before you came to see us?

When I began at WHNC with Nutritional Response Testing (NRT), I had been told that I had to take medication for the rest of my life for GERD. My blood pressure was 160/90 and I was being pressured to go on meds for high BP. I was also frequently on antibiotics and prednisone for chronic sinus infections. I had five sinus infections during an eight month period. I was steadily gaining weight each month from the medications and still suffered with sticky, thick mucus. I also have allergies and long term chronic issues with asthma and was plagued with rashes that no one could explain.

I have suffered from a lot of heart problems throughout my life and have always been told there’s nothing anyone can do for me. I’m very active in sports and the past few years I had trouble with fatigue, rapid heart rate, dizziness and faintness while participating in sports. It was very discouraging to me because I had always been so active and it had become extremely difficult for me to be as athletic as I had once been.

How is it now?

Over the past few months I have watched my heart rate decrease at the gym from approximately my usual 180 to a consistent 165. It’s made a substantial difference. I don’t get nearly as fatigued and it feels like I can still breathe. I also played tennis recently and noticed a huge difference; I didn’t get lightheaded while serving and I was able to sprint to shots that I wouldn’t have been able to in the past few years. I didn’t feel my heart pounding in my chest which had also been happening consistently during sports over the past last few years.   This success story was shared with us by Kara K. on 3/20/2013.

I was tired all the time and felt blah, even though I was getting enough sleep. I was being treated for sleep apnea for one year before I came, and was disappointed and I still felt fatigued all the time. I had developed vertigo symptoms that wouldn’t go away; I had frequent headaches, sluggish digestion, and almost constant sinus pressure all around my eyes; my nose was almost always stuffy. I noticed I had increasing brain fog and would become easily overwhelmed (or forgetful) when handling tasks I used to handle with ease. I had concerns regarding my cholesterol and osteoporosis. My clothes were getting too tight, especially around the waist; my visual “tricks” to lose that extra just didn’t work anymore.

What was it like before you came to see us?

I had shingles in 2007; I have not felt well since; very sluggish and tired. Then in 2013, for several months I was overwhelmingly tired, had huge lumps on my neck and had a perpetual sore throat. Dr.’s told me I had depression. Finally, one doctor did lab work and it came back positive for the Epstein-Barr virus. Since then I have been horrifyingly tired, with a plugged ear and sore throat. In September of 2014 I developed dizziness, shortness of breath, hot flashes, chills, fainting spells, blurred vision, heartburn, poor digestion, racing heart, more fatigue than ever, nausea, an extreme hyper-startle response and my whole body felt like it was getting a constant electrical shock. This went on day and night for a long time. I had seen several specialists and all the testing came back negative. Some doctors believed I had a mystery medical issue but most told me I had anxiety. After being out of work for two months due to this illness, I used all of my sick and vacations days, so I had to go back to work. My Primary told me that going to work would be good for me as it would give me something to think about other than my health issues. I went back to work; I was not getting much better; I could not even drive. My sister (who see’s Aaron’s sister for NRT in Ithaca, with spectacular results) begged me to see Aaron. I did so out of desperation, and what a life changer it has been!
