Difficulty Exercising

What was it like before you came to see us?

I couldn’t sleep well, and didn’t feel rested when I finally fall asleep. I was fatigued, half-awake, and unable to retain information. I got up not feeling refreshed, dragged through the day, and collapsed when I got home. I experienced constant anxiety, muscle spasms, and restless legs. I was eating sugar and felt like a drug addict. My asthma was getting worse.  

How is it now?

I can sleep, in a normal way for the right amount of hours. If I wake up, it is not difficult to get back to sleep. Also, my weekly exercise is now working; rather than staying in place, I’m making improvements in strength and endurance. I wake fully without caffeine and am no longer addicted to sugar. I can also get home and not collapse, so the house is cleaner. I have lots of improvement in breathing and hardly use my inhaler.

What was it like before you came to see us?

I was a mess! I had gastric bypass surgery 3½ years earlier and had gained 40 of the 100 pounds I lost. I was on sinus medication every day and was also taking insulin twice daily along with a ton of supplements. I looked and felt far beyond my years.  

How is it now?

Now, I’ve lost 30 of those previous gained pounds! I take only a few supplements and no sinus medication at all. I no longer have to take insulin every day, now it is only necessary on a rare occasion. I feel much better and apparently look younger too! I have received so many wonderful compliments! What was it like before you came to see us?

I have suffered from a lot of heart problems throughout my life and have always been told there’s nothing anyone can do for me. I’m very active in sports and the past few years I had trouble with fatigue, rapid heart rate, dizziness and faintness while participating in sports. It was very discouraging to me because I had always been so active and it had become extremely difficult for me to be as athletic as I had once been.    

How is it now?

Over the past few months I have watched my heart rate decrease at the gym from approximately my usual 180 to a consistent 165. It’s made a substantial difference. I don’t get nearly as fatigued and it feels like I can still breathe. I also played tennis recently and noticed a huge difference; I didn’t get lightheaded while serving and I was able to sprint to shots that I wouldn’t have been able to in the past few years. What was it like before you came to see us?

carol before The extreme lack of energy was what led my body and me to Whole Health Nutrition Center. I was good for only about four hours of activity daily. I was always tired, yet could not get a good night’s sleep. But there were many other problems with my physical being. I was constipated, my joints ached, and I was retaining a low level virus I knew medical doctors would treat with antibiotics. My adrenals were not performing well. My skin was dry, rough, and no amount of cream could help it recover. I craved sugar; I was hungry all the time. My brain wasn’t functioning as it should. What was it like before you came to see us?

I had frequent and sometimes severe cramps and was struggling to figure out which foods caused my digestion issues. I also wanted to learn how to “eat clean” (reduce sugar and processed grains) for general well- being. At the same time I was working with WHNC, I had my first colonoscopy, which helped me to understand that my digestion issues are mechanical- very twisty bowels- no inflammation.

How is it now?

Though I’m not symptom free, I do have less frequent severe cramping. I also know much better which foods and supplements to eat in order to support my best chances at good digestion, and to just feel better energy wise. In the process, I also lost 10 pounds, which was somewhat surprising as I’d been eating a lot more (whole food) then before. A regular health screening after 6 months showed both good and bad cholesterol numbers increasing the ratio was a bit lower and better.
