Menstrual Concerns

What was it like before you came to see us?

I had frequent and sometimes severe cramps and was struggling to figure out which foods caused my digestion issues. I also wanted to learn how to “eat clean” (reduce sugar and processed grains) for general well- being. At the same time I was working with WHNC, I had my first colonoscopy, which helped me to understand that my digestion issues are mechanical- very twisty bowels- no inflammation.

How is it now?

Though I’m not symptom free, I do have less frequent severe cramping. I also know much better which foods and supplements to eat in order to support my best chances at good digestion, and to just feel better energy wise. In the process, I also lost 10 pounds, which was somewhat surprising as I’d been eating a lot more (whole food) then before. A regular health screening after 6 months showed both good and bad cholesterol numbers increasing the ratio was a bit lower and better.

What was it like before you came to see us?

When I first came to Whole Health Nutrition, I had daily fatigue, regular sinus headaches and migraines, very painful periods, and had difficulty staying awake throughout the day. I had very low energy, and I had accepted that having diarrhea more often than not was normal and something I just had to live with. I was also carrying a lot of excess weight, which I worried would begin to impact my health in a negative way if I did not do something to address it.

What was it like before you came to see us?

When I started seeing Aaron 6 months ago my energy level was very low, always felt tired especially in the middle of the day. Along with having no energy I had horrible headaches/migraines that have been a huge part of my life for many years. I also had frequent pain in my kidney/adrenal gland that I seemed to experience with a lot of stress and anxiety. Probably the worst of all of these problems I would have was my menstrual cycle that dates back to when I was about 15 years old. That included extreme cramping, bloating and headaches so extreme I could not function.

What was it like before coming to WHNC?

Previously I was diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism 2-3 years before I came to WHNC. I had been put on numerous medications, all of which seemed to have little effect on my well-being. I became frustrated and decided to take a gamble on alternative methods.

How is it now?

Many of my symptoms are greatly improved. My hair is no longer falling out, my facial hair has decreased, my energy is much improved. I’ve lost 10lbs, which before was near impossible even eating a similar diet and taking my medication I am grateful for the changes and grateful to WHNC for being the cause!

What was it like before you came to WHNC?

Before May of 2013, I was this: 54 year old woman, lost 30 pounds by counting calories and working out. Never ate sweets. Participated in the 5k Dirty Girl Mud Run, living the life, keeping it all relatively healthy except for the (yikes) cigarette smoking. By March of 2014, I had turned into this: 55 year old woman, quit smoking (YAY), totally blindsided by menopause (night sweats, hot flashes, couldn't sleep, unable to focus on simple tasks), gained 30 pounds, way too tired to do anything after work (e.g., cook dinner, clean up, do daily chores, work out). My stomach was bloated and big, my other parts all were too. I felt fat and tired and tired of being fat and tired. I had hit bottom. I turned to Aaron Lambert at WHNC. He was so gentle and patient with me. Over a series of weeks, he encouraged me to eliminate sugar and grains from my diet. Then he suggested I eliminate coffee. I had lots of trouble. I felt defenseless against my sugar cravings and gave in many times. Mini Halloween candy bars—lots of ‘em.
